Our message

Cornerstone worships and adores the living, triune God — one God in three persons:  Father, Son and Holy Spirit — the creator of heaven and earth.  The Bible reveals Him to be holy and glorious.  “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!”  (Isaiah 6.3)

In contrast, people are not holy.  We are sinful — each one, from Adam and Eve to the present, breaking God’s perfect standard.  “For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God.”  (Romans 3.23)

God is just, so sin must be punished.  The punishment for sin cannot be less than death — eternal separation from the presence of God.  “The wages of sin is death . . .”  (Romans 6.23)

The good news, however, is that God loves us, and sent His Son to atone for our sins.  When He died voluntarily on the cross in our place, He fully satisfied God’s justice against our sin.  “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”  (Romans 5.8)  “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God.”  (1 Peter 3.18)  “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”  (Romans 5.1)

When Jesus rose again on the third day, He affirmed that eternal, resurrected life may now be received by anyone who calls on His name.  “For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”  (Romans 10.13)

Calling on the Lord involves two human responses:  repentance and faith.  Repentance means to admit sorrow over our sinfulness.  “Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.”  (Luke 13.3)

Faith means confessing Jesus to be the Lord, and trusting only in Him (not in our own good works) to save us.  “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.” (Acts 16.31)  “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”  (Romans 10.9)

This is the message Cornerstone believes and proclaims.  It is the greatest message you’ll ever hear — the love of God, and His provision for you to live forever with Him.

Do you believe that Jesus died and rose again?  Are you trusting Him alone as your Saviour and Lord?
